Just before Rosh Hashanah, the Chabad singer from France SHMIL, presents for the benefit of the baalei tzibur and the general public, a moving rendition of the well-known piut “Unesaneh Tokef” with a Chabad tune known as the ‘Nigun Poltova’, as he performs it himself in the Rosh Hashanah prayers for the past seven years at the Chabad Synagogue in Milan, where a chazzan has been serving for close to 20 years.
The Nigun Poltova is a tune in which he would pray in a pleasant and eloquent manner full of emotion and trembling of the soul Rabbi Ya’akov Mordechai Beslov, who was a Rebbi in the city of Poltova and was one of the famous followers of the Rebbe of the Maharash and the Rebbe of the Rebbe of Lubavitch.
SHMIL, who lives in France, sings at various events and performances in Europe, the USA, Israel and more, and is loved by the audience thanks to the high energy they bring to every new event.
