Without prior notice, Shuli Rand is releasing a new and surprising mini album. It includes 6 songs: sharp, witty, moving, delicate, and spicy, and will bring a smile and a tear. In other words – Shuli Rand , as only he knows how to do.
Eyruah Mitgalgal is a project in collaboration with Yemi Weissler, Assaf Talmudi, Gadi Pogetsch and other talented and good people.
Shuli says: “Sometimes a person makes plans and the event chooses to take a slightly different direction. This is more or less the story of ‘Eyruah Mitgalgal‘ – the new mini-album, as it is called.
Initially, we got together to write a musical based on a story by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov. Then we thought about a movie, a TV series, a one-off evening, and so on and so forth. But the event had its own desires and when we saw that it was insistent, we let it go, and as they say, we flowed with it. And when the songs were born, we let them come and welcomed them.
After some twists and turns, we arrived at a mini-album called ‘Eyruah Mitgalgal‘. I use the plural, because this album was made in camaraderie and full partnership, in a much more meaningful way than I am used to. At first it was mainly with Yemi Weissler (the entertainment) who helped in smoke-filled rooms to give birth to the songs. Then with Assaf Talmudi, who helped in even more smoke-filled studios to give them shape. Later on, The musicians, each with their own point, and finally Gadi Pogetsch arrived to bring them to their final stage.
The truth is, the process was mostly joyful, funny, and enjoyable.
So if you see a wonderful painting by Michael Faust, please don’t scroll past it, listen, and with God’s help, it will rise and come towards us for the seven good years.
Love.
Shuli.
